Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech – Free Afternoon
Arrive at Marrakech Airport, where you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your selected hotel or riad. Take the afternoon to relax and explore the city at your own pace. Whether you choose to wander through the souks, visit local cafes, or simply unwind in the charm of your riad, your Moroccan adventure begins at your leisure.
Day 2: Marrakech Guided City Tour
After breakfast at your riad, meet your expert local guide for a full day of sightseeing in Marrakech. Visit the iconic Jemaa el-Fna Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its bustling food stalls, street performers, musicians, and fortune tellers. Explore the hidden alleyways and gardens of the medina, and see the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech.
The tour does not include entrance fees to cultural sites to give you flexibility based on your personal interests. After your guided tour, you’ll have free time to continue exploring, shop in the vibrant souks, or relax at a local spa.
Day 3: Marrakech to Dades Valley – Atlas Mountains & Ait Benhaddou
Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Skoura Oasis → Dades Valley
Leave Marrakech behind as you drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in North Africa. Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village famous for its dramatic mud-brick architecture.
Continue through the Skoura Oasis, where palm groves and kasbahs dot the landscape, before heading into the Roses Valley and on to the Dades Valley, known for its "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." Spend the night in the Dades Valley, surrounded by incredible mountain and desert views.
Day 4: Dades Valley to the Sahara – Camel Trek at Erg Chebbi
Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
After breakfast, you’ll drive to the stunning Todra Gorge, where you’ll explore the narrow rock walls. Then, continue to the edge of the Sahara Desert at Merzouga. After arriving in Merzouga, leave your luggage in the kasbah and prepare for a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
As the sun sets over the vast desert, you’ll enjoy a Moroccan dinner at your luxury desert camp, accompanied by traditional music around the campfire. Spend the night under the stars in the serene silence of the desert.
Day 5: Desert Exploration – Tea with Nomads & Cultural Immersion
Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before returning to the kasbah for breakfast. Then, visit nearby nomadic communities, where you can share traditional tea and enjoy the soulful rhythms of Gnawa music.
In the afternoon, continue exploring the desert, taking a camel trek into the pink sands of the Sahara. As the day winds down, relax in your luxury camp with a Moroccan feast and more live music, followed by stargazing in the tranquil desert night.
Day 6: Desert Sunrise to Ouarzazate via “Morocco’s Grand Canyon”
Merzouga → Rissani → N’Kob → Draa Valley → Ouarzazate
After an early breakfast, head back across the desert dunes to the kasbah. We’ll then journey north through the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most picturesque landscapes, with palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Stop in N’kob for a scenic lunch and optional visit to a fossil discovery workshop before continuing to Ouarzazate.
Often referred to as "The Hollywood of Morocco," Ouarzazate has been the filming location for movies such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Spend the night in Ouarzazate and explore the city’s unique blend of history and modernity.
Day 7: Ouarzazate to Essaouira – Telouet Kasbah & Salt Mine
Ouarzazate → Telouet Kasbah → Salt Mine → Essaouira
After breakfast, depart Ouarzazate and head to the Telouet Kasbah, a stunning example of traditional Berber architecture. Visit a Salt Mine to learn about ancient mining techniques and their historical significance.
Continue your journey to Essaouira, a coastal city known for its historic medina, arts scene, and stunning beaches. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring Essaouira's vibrant market stalls, galleries, and relaxed atmosphere. Spend the night by the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 8: Essaouira to Marrakech – Exploring the "Southern Pearl"
Essaouira → Marrakech
After breakfast, return to Marrakech for a day at leisure. You can revisit the iconic Jemaa el-Fna, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy a relaxing hammam experience. In the afternoon, explore more of Marrakech's hidden gems, from the peaceful Majorelle Garden to the Bahia Palace.
In the evening, relax at one of the cafes in Jemaa el-Fna Square, taking in the bustling energy of the city. You’ll also have the option to enjoy dinner at one of Marrakech’s finest restaurants, where you can sample delicious Moroccan cuisine.
Day 9: Marrakech at Your Leisure – Transfer to the Airport
Your final day in Marrakech is free for last-minute exploration, shopping, or relaxation. You may choose to take a cooking class, ride a donkey cart through the city, or enjoy a traditional Moroccan hammam experience.
Your guide will assist with any arrangements and transfer you to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your incredible 9-day Moroccan adventure.
