Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca and Transfer to Rabat
Route: Casablanca → Rabat
Upon arrival in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, meet your guide for a short city tour. Visit the grounds of the Hassan II Mosque, with its stunning views over the Atlantic and its towering minarets. Then, continue to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital. Explore key landmarks, including the Royal Palace and Mohammed V Mausoleum, before settling into your riad or hotel for the night.
Day 2: Journey to the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen
Route: Rabat → Asilah → Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains
Depart for Chefchaouen, stopping en route in the fortified coastal town of Asilah. Walk along Asilah’s historic Portuguese-built ramparts, adorned with local artwork, for a taste of Moroccan and Spanish cultural fusion. After lunch, journey through the scenic Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Known for its blue-painted streets, Chefchaouen offers a picturesque medina, unique artisan crafts, and stunning views over the mountains. Spend the night in a charming riad and enjoy dinner on a rooftop terrace overlooking the vibrant town.
Day 3: Roman Ruins and Imperial History
Route: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Moulay Idriss → Meknes → Fes
Begin the day with a scenic drive to Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. Wander through the ancient mosaics, baths, and palaces of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to the sacred town of Moulay Idriss, before reaching Meknes, often called the "Versailles of Morocco." Explore key sites, including Bab Mansour, Sahrij Souani, and the old medina. Conclude your day in Fes, where you’ll check into your hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Full-Day Tour of Fes
Explore Fes with a local guide, starting with the bustling medina of Fes el-Bali. Wander the narrow streets filled with souks selling spices, textiles, and handcrafted goods. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Quaraouiyine University, and the vibrant tanneries of Fes where leather artisans use traditional methods. Enjoy lunch in the medina and spend the evening at your leisure before retiring to your hotel.
Day 5: Scenic Drive to the Sahara Desert
Route: Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Ziz Gorges → Erfoud → Merzouga
Depart Fes and journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and Azrou, famous for its cedar forests and Barbary apes. Continue via Midelt to the stunning Ziz Valley, a fertile oasis lined with palm groves. Arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for an unforgettable night in a Berber camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner, music, and a clear view of the star-filled Sahara sky.
Day 6: Explore the Desert and Todra Gorge
Route: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before riding back to Merzouga. Continue to Rissani, a historic market town, before heading to Todra Gorge, Morocco's “Grand Canyon.” Explore the dramatic rock walls and lush river valley, stopping for lunch along the way. In the afternoon, travel through the scenic Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of 1000 Kasbahs.” Watch the sunset over the cliffs before checking into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Valley Views and Ancient Kasbahs
Route: Dades Valley → Rose Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Benhaddou → Marrakech
Depart through the Dades Valley, with views of local villages, farms, and the towering Atlas Mountains. Pass through the Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant rose fields and annual festival, and visit the Skoura Oasis with its palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Arrive in Ouarzazate, where you’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. Continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular filming location. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, descending to Marrakech for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: Guided Exploration of Marrakech
Set off on a guided walking tour of Marrakech’s highlights, including the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and Koutoubia Mosque. Visit the Dar Si Said Museum and the labyrinthine souk off Djemaa el-Fna Square, where you’ll find artisans, spice sellers, and street food vendors. The square comes alive in the evening with musicians, dancers, and entertainers. Enjoy dinner and overnight in Marrakech.
Day 9: Day Trip to Ourika Valley or Leisure Day
Enjoy a day trip to the Ourika Valley in the Atlas Mountains, famous for its waterfalls, traditional Berber villages, and lush greenery. Stroll along mountain trails, meet locals, and learn about Berber culture. Alternatively, you may choose to spend the day in Marrakech, exploring its medina, relaxing at a hammam, or shopping for souvenirs.
In the late afternoon, depart for Casablanca, where you’ll relax and unwind before your departure.
Day 10: Departure from Casablanca
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely morning before being transferred to Casablanca’s airport in plenty of time for your departure.
