The journey begins with a morning departure from Agadir, heading inland through the fertile Souss Valley toward Taliouine, renowned as the saffron capital of Morocco. Witness sprawling saffron fields and learn about the cultivation of this prized spice.

Continue to Taznakht, a small town famed for its handwoven Berber carpets. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to admire the intricate designs and vibrant colors that tell stories of Amazigh heritage.

Your journey then leads to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This iconic ksar, with its earthen clay architecture, has been the backdrop for countless films and TV shows. Stroll through its ancient alleyways and climb to the top for breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The day ends in Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco.” After checking into your accommodation, enjoy a relaxing evening in this city, known for its film studios and the impressive Kasbah Taourirt.

Day 2: Ouarzazate → Skoura → Rose Valley → Toudra Gorges → Merzouga

After breakfast, set out for Skoura, an oasis dotted with palm groves and historic kasbahs. Explore the Kasbah Amridil, a well-preserved fortress that offers insight into traditional Moroccan architecture.

Continue through the Rose Valley, famous for its blooming Damascus roses, particularly in spring. Stop to explore small villages and cooperatives producing rose-based products like oils and perfumes.

As you approach the High Atlas, the scenery becomes more dramatic. Arrive at the Toudra Gorges, where sheer limestone cliffs tower over a crystal-clear river. Take a leisurely walk to admire the natural beauty and capture stunning photographs.

In the late afternoon, head toward Merzouga, the gateway to the expansive Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival, settle into your desert accommodation and savor a traditional dinner under the starry sky.

Day 3: Merzouga → Rissani → Alnif → Tazarine → Nkob

Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes, a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast, depart for Rissani, an ancient trading hub known for its lively souk and historical significance as the starting point for caravans crossing the Sahara.

From Rissani, the route leads to Alnif, a town surrounded by rugged desert landscapes. Pass through Tazarine, a quaint village set amidst palm groves, and continue to Nkob, a charming town known for its 45 kasbahs. Enjoy a peaceful evening in Nkob, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Draa Valley.

Day 4: Nkob → Agdz → Taznakht → Taliouine → Agadir

Your final day begins with a scenic drive to Agdz, a town nestled along the Draa River. Stop to admire the lush palm oasis and the historic Kasbah Tamnougalt, a remarkable example of southern Moroccan architecture.

The journey then retraces its path through Taznakht, offering another chance to appreciate the craftsmanship of its Berber rugs, and Taliouine, where you might purchase high-quality saffron as a souvenir.
