As the evening unfolds, the square comes alive with entertainers, food vendors, and performers, offering a truly magical experience..

DAY 2: Marrakech to the Heart of Dades Valley

Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Skoura Oasis → Roses Valley → Dades Valley

Your adventure begins as your guide and driver meet you at your accommodation, ready to whisk you away from the lively streets of Marrakech to the serene beauty of the Atlas Mountains. We'll traverse the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, which, at 2,260 meters (7,415 feet), is the highest mountain pass in North Africa. This road offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the traditional villages on its northern slopes, where you’ll see corn drying on the flat rooftops of the stone houses.

As we drive through the land of the powerful Glaoua tribe, we’ll pass by ancient kasbahs and fortified granaries, steeped in history. Our first major stop will be at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the ancient fortified village before enjoying lunch.

Next, we’ll head toward the Skoura Oasis, known for its dense palm groves, and navigate the pathways between kasbahs, ksours, and fertile lands. Continuing on, we’ll enter the Roses Valley, known for its fragrant blossoms, before making our way to Dades Valley along the famous "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." The landscape is dotted with Berber adobe homes, and towering fortresses stand proudly beside the river. We’ll end our day with a restful night in the Dades Valley.

DAY 3: Dades Valley to the Majestic Erg Chebbi Dunes, Merzouga

Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Rissani → Merzouga → Camel Trek into the Erg Chebbi Dunes

After breakfast and check-out, we’ll make our way to Tinghir, a former military outpost nestled on the banks of the Oued Todra, surrounded by olive, pomegranate, and orange groves. We’ll drive through the Todra Gorges, a lush oasis set along the river, with towering cliffs rising on either side. This part of the journey offers a perfect chance for exploration among the rocky walls.

In the afternoon, we’ll pass through the oasis towns of Tinjdad and Touroug before arriving in Erfoud, a town known for its local fossil workshops. From here, we head straight to the desert village of Merzouga, located at the edge of the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll have a chance to store any unnecessary belongings in a safe room at a local hotel before setting off on your camel ride into the Sahara.

Your camel trek, lasting about 90 minutes, will lead you deep into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where the towering sand dunes rise as high as 820 feet. At a traditional Berber camp, you’ll enjoy comfort and luxury, with Berber tents featuring mattresses, linens, and modern amenities. In the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to stargaze under the vast desert sky, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and experience a live music performance.

The road will take us through the stunning palm groves of Draa Valley and Agdz, a village along the ancient caravan route that connected Marrakech to Timbuktu.

In the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the "Hollywood of Morocco," located in the heart of a barren plateau. Ouarzazate's strategic location has made it an important trade hub throughout history, and today, it is a film center with studios that have produced iconic films like Alexander the Great and The Last Temptation of Christ. After checking into our hotel, you’ll have the chance to relax by the pool, enjoy the fresh desert air, and unwind for the night.

The pass offers breathtaking views as it winds through Berber villages and descends into the plains near Marrakech. From there, we’ll continue our journey to Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed coastal city.

Essaouira, a historic windswept fishing port, is famous for its long beaches, ancient medina, and vibrant arts scene. The city is home to many of Morocco’s wood carvers and artists. You can spend the afternoon exploring the city’s ramparts, beaches, and port or wander through the lively medina. Essaouira is also known for its Gnaoua Music Festival held every June. After a relaxed evening, we’ll enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night at a tranquil local hotel.
