4 days Journey Through Mountains, Valleys, and Ancient Kasbahs
Tour Overview
Conducting initial research on flights from your nearest airport can help you find the most cost-effective options for arriving in and departing from Morocco. Our tours are highly flexible and can start from any city that fits your schedule.
Day 1: Agadir → Taliouine → Taznakht → Aït Benhaddou → Ouarzazate
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Agadir, heading inland towards the vibrant saffron-producing town of Taliouine. Surrounded by fields of crocus flowers, this village is famed for its high-quality saffron. Take a moment to explore its traditional markets or learn about the art of saffron cultivation.
Continue to Taznakht, known for its exquisite handwoven Berber carpets. Witness the intricate craftsmanship of the local artisans and perhaps shop for an authentic rug to take home.
From Taznakht, journey to the iconic Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most well-preserved ksars (fortified villages). Walk through its maze-like streets and marvel at the centuries-old architecture that has graced the screens of many Hollywood films.
End your day in Ouarzazate, often called the "Gateway to the Sahara," where you’ll settle in for the night. This vibrant city, rich in film history, offers a stunning backdrop of rugged mountains and vast deserts.
Day 2: Ouarzazate → Agdz → Nkob → Merzouga
After breakfast, travel through the dramatic Draa Valley, following the meandering Draa River as it snakes through lush palm groves and arid landscapes. Stop at Agdz, a charming village nestled at the foot of the Jebel Kissane mountains, and explore its lively souk.
Continue to Nkob, a tranquil village adorned with earthen kasbahs and set against the backdrop of the Saghro Mountains. Savor a traditional lunch before heading deeper into the desert.
Arrive in Merzouga, a small town on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where towering golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see. Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the desert as you prepare for a magical night under the stars. Options for the evening include a camel trek, sandboarding, or simply enjoying the stillness of the dunes.
Day 3: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Boumalne
Rise early to witness the breathtaking desert sunrise, with the sun casting a golden glow over the vast sands. After breakfast, set off for the spectacular Todra Gorges, a series of dramatic limestone canyons carved by the Todra River. Walk along the gorge’s base, surrounded by cliffs that soar over 300 meters high.
Continue to Boumalne Dades, a picturesque town perched at the edge of the Dades Valley, known for its stunning rock formations and panoramic views. Relax and soak in the serene atmosphere as you prepare for another restful evening.
Day 4: Boumalne → Rose Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Agadir
Begin your final day with a journey through the fragrant Rose Valley, famous for its blooming Damask roses and vibrant local culture. Depending on the season, you might catch glimpses of rose fields or visit a distillery producing rosewater and other fragrant products.
Next, travel to Skoura, home to lush palm groves and historic kasbahs such as the Kasbah Amridil, an iconic 17th-century fortress offering a glimpse into traditional Moroccan architecture.
