Day 1: Tangier Port/Airport Transfer & City Tour

Your adventure begins upon arrival in Tangier, where your driver will meet you at the port or airport and transfer you to your accommodation. Spend your first day immersed in the history of this coastal city. Begin by exploring the whitewashed Medina, with its narrow, winding streets that tell the story of centuries of cultural exchange. Visit the Dar el Makhzen, the sultan’s former palace, which now houses a museum showcasing Moroccan artifacts, some dating back to prehistoric times. You’ll also visit the American Legation Museum, which commemorates the diplomatic ties between Morocco and the United States, housed in a beautiful Moorish-style building that dates back to 1821.

Next, make your way to the Hercules Caves, a network of caves with breathtaking views over the Strait of Gibraltar. The caves are famous for their natural rock formations, including an opening that resembles the shape of the African continent. Finally, visit the Kasbah Museum, located in the former sultan’s palace, where you can explore exhibits about Morocco’s history from prehistoric to 19th-century times, all while enjoying the peaceful setting of the Andalusian Gardens. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Tangier.

Day 2: Tangier → Asilah → Rabat → Casablanca

After breakfast, depart from Tangier and head south toward Asilah, a charming coastal town with vibrant blue and white buildings and artistic murals. Spend some time wandering through its picturesque streets and harbor before continuing your journey. Arriving in Rabat, Morocco’s capital, you’ll explore the historical Oudaya Kasbah, perched on a hill with sweeping views of the Atlantic. Wander through its narrow alleys and gardens before visiting the Hassan Tower, an incomplete mosque that dates back to the 12th century, and the adjacent Mohammed V Mausoleum, where three Moroccan kings are buried.

The journey continues toward Casablanca, the country’s economic center. Here, visit the Mohammed V Square, a spacious public square surrounded by grand French colonial-era buildings. You’ll also stop by the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Built on the edge of the ocean, it boasts the tallest minaret in the world, standing at 210 meters. The intricate tile work and beautiful carvings make it a stunning example of Moroccan architecture. After a day filled with history and culture, you’ll spend the night in Casablanca.

Day 3: Casablanca → Essaouira

This morning, after breakfast, travel along the Moroccan coastline to the coastal city of Essaouira. Along the way, stop at El Jadida Mazagan, a UNESCO World Heritage site with Portuguese-influenced architecture, and Safi, a town famous for its pottery and fishing industry. Upon arrival in Essaouira, enjoy free time to explore its historical medina, with its narrow, labyrinthine streets, colorful souks, and unique art galleries. The city is also known for its well-preserved fortifications, including the Skala de la Ville, which offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the city’s port. The bustling fishing port is another must-see, where you can witness the daily catch being unloaded from traditional fishing boats. Enjoy your first night in Essaouira.

Day 4: Essaouira at Leisure

Today, enjoy a relaxing day to fully explore Essaouira at your own pace. Visit the fortifications and city walls that surround the old town, and stroll through the charming alleys filled with art galleries, craft shops, and boutiques. The city is also known for its laid-back atmosphere and beautiful beaches, so you may wish to spend the afternoon relaxing by the sea or trying your hand at windsurfing or kite surfing. For a true taste of the region, enjoy fresh fish at one of the port-side restaurants, where the catch of the day is grilled to perfection. Return to your hotel in the evening for another overnight stay in Essaouira.

Day 5: Essaouira → Marrakech

Enjoy your final morning in Essaouira before heading toward Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most famous cities. The drive takes you through the stunning Argan Tree region, where you can spot the iconic tree that produces the renowned Argan oil. On arrival in Marrakech, you will have some free time to explore the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa Square and its surrounding markets. You’ll have the opportunity to shop for spices, jewelry, and textiles, or simply soak in the lively atmosphere. The day ends with an overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 6: Marrakech Walking Tour

Today, you will enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, beginning with a visit to the stunning Bahia Palace, a 19th-century mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens and intricate tile work. The tour continues to the Saadian Tombs, which date back to the Saadian dynasty in the 16th century, where members of the royal family are buried. Next, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, and the Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a lively marketplace where you’ll see snake charmers, musicians, and food stalls. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the city further, perhaps visiting the Majorelle Gardens or the Marrakech Museum. You’ll spend another night in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech → Boumalne Dades

After breakfast, the journey takes you through the High Atlas Mountains, where you will pass traditional Berber villages nestled in the hillsides. Stop in the village of Telouet, where you’ll visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This 17th-century fortified village has been featured in numerous films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After a delicious lunch near the kasbah, continue through the scenic Valley of Roses and reach Boumalne Dades, where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Boumalne Dades → Merzouga

Following breakfast, your journey takes you to the stunning Todra Gorge, a narrow, dramatic canyon with cliffs that rise up to 300 meters. After exploring the gorge, continue to the desert town of Merzouga, located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Stop at Erfoud and Rissani, known for their traditional markets and local crafts. On arrival in Merzouga, you will be welcomed with a traditional glass of mint tea before embarking on a camel trek through the towering sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. After two hours of trekking, you will arrive at your desert camp, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner, live music, and the peacefulness of the desert night under a sky full of stars.

Day 9: Desert Culture + Tea with Nomads

Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert. After returning to the camp for a hearty breakfast, spend the day learning about the desert's rich culture. Visit nomadic families in their traditional tents and enjoy a glass of tea with them, while listening to the haunting rhythms of Gnawa music. Take time to explore the vast desert landscapes and enjoy some quiet moments alone, surrounded by the endless dunes. In the evening, watch another incredible sunset over the Sahara before heading back to your camp for a Moroccan feast and more desert music around the campfire. Overnight in the desert camp.

Day 10: Merzouga → Fes

After breakfast, continue your journey to Fes, passing through the dramatic landscapes of the Ziz Valley and the Cedar forests near Ifran, a picturesque town known for its Swiss-style architecture and alpine climate. Stop to see the famous Lion Statue and the surrounding forests, home to the endangered Barbary macaques. After a full day of scenic drives, you will arrive in Fes by the evening. Overnight in Fes.

Day 11: Fes Guided Visit

Today, immerse yourself in the historical wonders of Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest and most important imperial cities. Start with a visit to the Madrasa El Bouinania, an outstanding example of Marinid architecture. Then, explore the world’s oldest continuously operating university at Al Quaraouiyine, founded in 859 A.D. Wander through the bustling medina, where you can see the Nejjarine Fountain, visit the Pottery Village, and admire the intricacy of the Royal Palace gates. In the afternoon, explore the tanneries where leather is still dyed using traditional methods. Free time allows for additional exploration, and your day concludes with an overnight stay in Fes.

Day 12: Fes → Meknes → Volubilis → Chefchaouen

Today, you will journey to Meknes, a city once ruled by Sultan Moulay Ismail. You’ll see the grand Bab Mansour Gate, one of the most impressive gates in Morocco, and the Heri es-Souani, an ancient grain storage facility. Continue to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, one of the most important archaeological sites in North Africa. Explore the remains of ancient temples, homes, and public buildings. Finally, head to Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City,” where you can stroll through the blue-washed streets, visit the Kasbah Museum, and enjoy the city’s tranquil ambiance. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 13: Akchour Waterfalls Excursion

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the Akchour Waterfalls in the Rif Mountains. The drive offers beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and lush forests. Upon arrival, enjoy a gentle hike to the waterfalls, where you can relax by the natural pools or take a refreshing dip. After your day in nature, return to Chefchaouen for some free time to explore or relax. Spend another night in Chefchaouen.

Day 14: Chefchaouen → Tangier

After breakfast, drive back to Tangier where your journey ends. You’ll be dropped off at your designated location, whether it’s the port, airport, or your hotel, with memories of an unforgettable Moroccan adventure.
