Taroudant is often called ‘little Marrakech’: a market town inside some of the best-kept earthen ramparts in Morocco, without the crowds. We drive through the argan-tree plain of the Souss, explore the town and its souks, and visit the palm oasis and kasbah of Tiout before returning to Agadir.
About 85 km each way, roughly 1 hour 15 minutes.

Around 9:00 AM
An easy day with short drives and walking in the medina. A good break from the beach.
We pick you up at your hotel in Agadir at 9:00 and drive east through the Souss plain, an hour and a half of orange groves and argan trees, where goats sometimes climb into the branches to eat the fruit.
Taroudant is often called little Marrakech, a market town inside red earthen ramparts, with the High Atlas on one side and the Anti-Atlas on the other. We drive or ride a horse-drawn carriage around the walls, then walk through the souks, the main square and the old tannery.
Lunch is in Taroudant (not included), a good place to try a tagine or a plate of local olives and bread.
In the afternoon we drive a short way south to the oasis of Tiout, a palm grove below an old kasbah on the hill, with views over the valley and the Anti-Atlas.
We drive back across the Souss plain and drop you at your hotel in Agadir around 17:30.
