A loop through the far south-west that few visitors see: Atlantic cliffs and fishing villages, the red arch of Legzira, Spanish-era Sidi Ifni, the pre-Saharan palm oases around Guelmim and Taghjijt, the fortified granary of Amtoudi and the pink granite valley of Tafraoute.
Accommodation: selected guesthouses and small hotels. Guidance and transport: a multilingual local guide-driver in an air-conditioned vehicle.

Route: Agadir → Tiznit → Aglou → Mirleft
Night: guesthouse in Mirleft · Meals: dinner
We pick you up at your hotel in Agadir and drive south along the coast and through the argan country of the Souss to Tiznit, a walled town known across the south for its Amazigh silver jewellery. We walk inside the ramparts, through the main square and the silver souk.
After lunch (not included) we drive to the beaches of Aglou and then follow the coast road to Mirleft, a small village on the cliffs above coves and surf beaches. You have time to walk down to the beach for sunset. Dinner and the night are in a guesthouse in Mirleft.

Route: Mirleft → Legzira → Sidi Ifni → Mirleft
Night: guesthouse in Mirleft · Meals: dinner
In the morning we drive to Legzira beach, known for its red sandstone arch over the sand. It is best at low tide, when you can walk along the beach under the cliffs; we time the visit with the tide.
We continue south to Sidi Ifni, a former Spanish town of white and blue Art Deco buildings above the ocean. You walk through the old Spanish quarter and its square, and down to the busy fishing port, where you can have fresh fish for lunch (not included). The town also has a long beach below the cliffs.
We drive back to Mirleft in the late afternoon for sunset over the ocean, dinner and the night in your guesthouse.
Approx. 70 km · about 1 h 30 driving

Route: Mirleft → Guelmim → Tighmert → Taghjijt → Amtoudi
Night: guesthouse near Amtoudi · Meals: dinner
Today we leave the coast for the oases of the deep south. We drive inland to Guelmim, the old gateway to the Sahara, and visit the nearby oasis of Tighmert, with its gardens, earthen ksour and small family museums of nomad life.
After lunch (not included) we head east to Taghjijt, a long palm grove at the foot of the Anti-Atlas, where small canals water the gardens under the date palms. In the late afternoon we reach Amtoudi, a village at the mouth of a gorge, below an old fortified granary, an agadir, built on a rocky peak. Dinner and the night are in a guesthouse near Amtoudi.
Approx. 230 km · 4–5 h driving

Route: Amtoudi → Ait Herbil → Tafraoute → Ameln Valley → Ait Baha → Agadir
Night: end of tour in Agadir · Meals: breakfast
In the morning you walk or ride a mule up to the agadir of Id Aissa above Amtoudi, one of the oldest collective granaries in Morocco, where families of the village once stored their harvest, documents and valuables. The view over the gorge and the palm grove is worth the climb.
We then drive north on mountain roads through Ait Herbil to Tafraoute, in a valley of pink granite boulders and almond trees. After lunch (not included) we see the Painted Rocks, giant boulders painted blue and red by the Belgian artist Jean Vérame in 1984, and the villages of the Ameln Valley under Jbel Lekst.
In the late afternoon we drive down through Ait Baha to Agadir, arriving in the evening, where the tour ends.
