See the best of the north-west coast in one day. In Tangier we visit the kasbah, the old medina and Cap Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean; in the afternoon we drive down the coast to Asilah, a whitewashed town inside Portuguese ramparts.
About 120 km in total; Asilah is roughly 45 minutes from Tangier.

Around 9:00 AM, or to match your ferry
An easy day with short drives and walking in two medinas. A good fit for ferry or cruise passengers with a day in Tangier.
We pick you up at your hotel, the port or the cruise terminal in Tangier at 9:00.
We start on foot in the kasbah, the old fortress above the port, with its museum in the former sultan’s palace and a viewpoint over the Strait of Gibraltar, with Spain on the other side. We walk down through the lanes of the medina to the Petit Socco, the small square where writers and travellers used to sit in the cafes.
Then we drive west along the coast to Cap Spartel, the lighthouse on the north-western tip of Africa, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Nearby we visit the Caves of Hercules, sea caves whose opening onto the ocean is said to look like the map of Africa.
We follow the Atlantic coast south to Asilah, a small town inside Portuguese ramparts. Lunch is by the sea (not included), usually fresh fish. Then you walk through the whitewashed medina, known for the murals that artists paint on its walls every summer, and along the ramparts above the waves.
We drive back north to Tangier and drop you at your hotel or the port around 17:00.
