Route: Marrakech → High Atlas (Tizi n’Tichka) → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Skoura Oasis → Roses Valley → Dades Valley
Night: hotel or riad in the Dades Valley · Meals: dinner
Approx. 320 km · 6–7 h driving

We meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech and head for the High Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest mountain pass in North Africa, with wide views of peaks and valleys. Along the way you’ll see ancient kasbahs and fortified granaries of the Glaoua region, built to protect villages and store crops.
Next is Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco’s most famous kasbah, seen in Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore its alleys and walls before lunch in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco”.
In the afternoon we drive through the date palms of the Skoura Oasis to the Roses Valley, famous for its rose fields, and arrive in the Dades Valley, with its dramatic rock formations, for the night.
Route: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
Night: private tent at a Berber desert camp · Meals: breakfast, dinner
Approx. 300 km · 5–6 h driving

After breakfast we follow the Todra Valley, lined with olive, pomegranate and orange trees, to the Todra Gorge, where you can walk between towering cliffs. Leaving the gorge, the landscape opens into the plains of the Sahara. We pass Erfoud, known for its fossils and marble, and reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes.
You leave any extra luggage at a hotel and set off by camel as the sun goes down over the dunes. At the Berber camp, a traditional dinner awaits with live music around the fire, then a night in a private tent under a sky full of stars.
Route: Merzouga → Erfoud → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Azrou cedar forest → Ifrane → Fes
Night: tour ends at your riad in Fes · Meals: breakfast
Approx. 470 km · 8–9 h driving

Wake early for sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, return to Merzouga by camel or vehicle, collect your bags and start towards Fes.
We stop at viewpoints over the Ziz Valley, with its palm groves and kasbahs, then pause for lunch in Midelt below the High Atlas peaks. In the cedar forests near Azrou, look out for the Barbary macaques, before passing through the mountain town of Ifrane. By evening we arrive in Fes, and your guide helps you find your riad.
