Begin your journey in Fes, a city steeped in history and culture, before heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, a charming town often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and cool climate. Continue on to Midelt, nestled between the mountains and desert, for a quick break and lunch.
Your journey continues through Errachidia, where the desert landscape begins to take shape, and then on to the stunning Ziz Valley, dotted with lush palm groves. As you approach Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara, take in the sight of towering sand dunes. Reach Merzouga in the late afternoon, where you’ll embark on a camel trek to witness the stunning sunset over the dunes. Spend the night in a desert camp, under a canopy of stars.
After breakfast, begin your journey toward Rissani, a town known for its traditional souks and bustling markets. Continue through the arid landscape towards Alnif, a village known for its fossils, before heading to Tazarine, a small Berber town with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
