Your adventure begins upon arrival at Marrakech airport, where we will meet you and transfer you to your centrally located hotel in Marrakech. After settling in and refreshing yourself, you’ll be free to begin exploring the lively atmosphere of Djemaa el Fna, the heart of Marrakech’s medina. As the day turns to evening, this famous square transforms into a vibrant spectacle with food stalls, street performers, dancers, musicians, and fortune tellers. It’s a sensory overload, filled with color, sound, and life, offering a glimpse into the true soul of Morocco. The night is yours to enjoy, either continuing your exploration or relaxing at your hotel.
After a refreshing breakfast at your riad, you’ll meet your knowledgeable local guide who will take you on a journey through the labyrinthine streets of Marrakech. The city is renowned for its maze-like alleys, hidden courtyards, and fascinating souks (markets). Your tour will include visits to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, with its towering minaret visible from nearly everywhere in the city, and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Djemaa el Fna, where you can watch acrobats, musicians, and food vendors come alive at dusk. As the day unfolds, you’ll discover hidden gardens, like the beautiful Jardin Majorelle, and historical monuments that reveal the essence of Marrakech’s deep cultural heritage. After the tour, you’ll have ample free time to either pamper yourself in a traditional hammam or dive deeper into the souks. The day will conclude with a restful night in Marrakech.
On the morning of Day 3, after breakfast, we’ll depart Marrakech and journey toward the coastal town of Essaouira. The drive takes us through picturesque valleys filled with olive groves and fragrant argan trees. Essaouira is a historic fishing port known for its well-preserved medina, long beaches, and the famous blue-and-white architecture. The town is also a hub for Moroccan artisans, particularly woodworkers, and has long been a destination for creative individuals. While in Essaouira, you can explore its ramparts, stroll along the beach, or visit the lively port where fresh seafood is brought in daily. As the sun sets, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner by the sea before retiring to a peaceful hotel in Essaouira for the night.
We begin the day with a drive toward Oualidia, a tranquil fishing village located along the Atlantic coast. En route, we’ll stop in Safi, a town with a deep history, having once been under Portuguese control. Safi is known for its pottery and sardine industry, and it’s the perfect place to explore local craftsmanship. Continuing along the coast, we arrive in Oualidia, where you’ll find a protected lagoon that is ideal for birdwatching, especially during migration periods. You can also enjoy various outdoor activities, such as surfing, swimming, kayaking, and hiking along the beach. The natural beauty and calm atmosphere of Oualidia make it an ideal place for relaxation and exploration, and we will spend the night at a local hotel.
After a relaxing morning, we’ll set off toward Rabat, passing through El Jadida, a small port city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its Portuguese influence. We’ll stop for a brief exploration before continuing to Casablanca. In Casablanca, we’ll visit the famous Mohamed V Square and the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Afterward, we’ll drive on to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where we’ll explore the Royal Palace complex, including the Mechouar, a series of ramparts and walls that surround the palace grounds. We’ll also visit the beautiful Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah des Oudayas, offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Rabat has a serene atmosphere and plenty of history to discover, and we’ll stay here overnight.
On Day 6, we’ll drive along the coast to the town of Asilah, known for its whitewashed buildings with blue doors and windows, and its vibrant murals decorating the walls. It’s a town that feels artistic and quaint, with a laid-back vibe perfect for a leisurely stroll. After exploring Asilah, we’ll continue to Tangier, a city that has long served as the meeting point of Europe and Africa. Once a multicultural hub, Tangier has a rich history and a unique atmosphere. We’ll visit the medina and other key sights, enjoying the stunning view where the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean meet. The day ends with a relaxing evening in Tangier.
We leave Tangier and head into the Rif Mountains towards Chefchaouen, a picturesque town famous for its vibrant blue-painted buildings and narrow streets. Known as the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco, Chefchaouen is a place of tranquility, where the air is fresh and the landscape is breathtaking. The town is a favorite among visitors who enjoy wandering through its scenic lanes, shopping for unique artisanal goods like wool clothing and intricate embroidery, and relaxing in its peaceful squares. You’ll also have the option to hike in the surrounding mountains or visit a local farm. Chefchaouen provides a perfect opportunity for both exploration and relaxation.
After breakfast in Chefchaouen, we’ll make our way to Fes, but first, we’ll stop to explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in North Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Volubilis offers impressive mosaics and ruins that give a glimpse into the region’s ancient past. We’ll continue our journey to the holy town of Moulay Idriss, then head to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, often referred to as the “Versailles of Morocco” because of its grandeur. Here, we’ll explore the city’s monuments, including the Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani, and the ancient medina before heading to Fes, where we’ll check into our hotel for the night.
Fes is one of the oldest and most culturally significant cities in Morocco. After breakfast, we’ll embark on a guided tour of the Fes medina, a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys where you’ll encounter artisans practicing ancient crafts, such as leatherworking, pottery, and weaving. The tanneries of Fes are world-renowned, and you’ll have the opportunity to observe the fascinating process of leather production. You’ll also visit important landmarks like the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest continually operating educational institution. After the tour, you’ll have free time to relax or explore more of the medina at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel for the night.
After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey to the Sahara Desert. As we travel through Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-like landscape, we’ll continue through the scenic Middle and High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch in Midelt. After lunch, we pass through the Ziz Gorge, a stunning landscape of palm oases and rugged mountains, before reaching Merzouga, where the towering Erg Chebbi dunes await. Here, you can either ride camels or take a 4WD to the dunes, where you’ll witness one of the most mesmerizing sunsets you’ve ever seen. We’ll spend the night in a luxury Berber camp, enjoying a traditional Moroccan feast and traditional music under the stars.
Wake up early to watch the desert sunrise, and after breakfast, you’ll have time to relax before embarking on a 4WD tour of the surrounding dunes. We’ll visit Khamlia, a village where descendants of former slaves from Senegal perform traditional Gnawa music. You’ll also meet nomadic desert tribes and learn about their way of life. After visiting the nearby Lake Merzouga, known for its birdlife, we’ll return to the Kasbah for lunch and leisure time. You’ll have plenty of options to enjoy the desert further, with activities like ATV quad biking, camel rides, and sandboarding. In the evening, enjoy another sunset camel ride and return to the camp for dinner and stargazing.
After an early desert sunrise and breakfast, we’ll leave the dunes behind and travel toward the Todra Gorge, known as “Morocco’s Grand Canyon.” After lunch in the gorge, we’ll continue to the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic landscape of cliffs, valleys, and kasbahs. The area is dotted with roses, and it’s an excellent place to hike and take in breathtaking views. We’ll arrive in the Dades Valley in the evening and enjoy a leisurely dinner at our accommodation.
We’ll begin the journey back to Marrakech, traveling through the Valley of the Roses, the Skoura Oasis, and the film capital of Morocco, Ouarzazate. We’ll stop to visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, one of the most stunning ksours in Morocco, and a popular location for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring this historic site, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains and return to Marrakech, where we’ll enjoy a relaxed evening and an overnight stay.
On the final day of your Moroccan adventure, you’ll have free time to enjoy last-minute shopping in the medina or relax before we transfer you to the airport for your departure.
